The excitement of working en plein air is in the action, as I record what I can, to the best of my ability. Usually this is also done alla prima, or all at one time. 

To quote Hawthorn On Painting: (I try to ) “Realize the value of putting down (my) first impression quickly." 

I enjoy this style, which demands me to work from life as much as possible.  

Through this method, I feel the pulse of the universe, and mark time with all that surrounds me. 

My artwork is inspired by a desire to develop skill as well as to communicate with others through the language found working from a Fine Art tool box. 

I am inspired and comforted from having my senses saturated from experiences while in nature, be it alone or in the company of others. It is wonderful for my work to communicate with others the beauty that lives at the doorstep.

I am best known for my Naturalistic style in my paintings and drawings.

I like  painting principally 'from life' or Plein Air. 

I was born in Lebanon, Oregon and am a graduate of University of Oregon in Fine & Applied Art ('85), in Eugene, Oregon. 

I am still  living in Oregon, now I reside in Portland, near natural wonders that I enjoy.
